XHTML is basically extensible Hypertext Markup Language. In otherword, XHTML is a stricter, cleaner version of HTML.

(X stands for extensible)

it's end goal : writing code that is cleaner, well-formatted and conforms to standards.

HTML is very flexible, yet XTML is very restrictive.
XHTML can be thought of as the intersection of HTML and XML in many respects, since it is a reformulation of HTML in XML. XHTML 1.0 became a World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Recommendation

Unlike HTML, XHTML is complex and restrictive, yet has automatic functions.

XHTML can be thought of as the intersection of HTML and XML in many respects, since it is a reformulation of HTML in XML. XHTML 1.0 became a World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Recommendation.

XHTML is extensible hypertext markup language. It is essentially a standard that all browsers can read. It is a stricter, cleaner form of HTML.

By the way, I am doing this in class right now, because I forgot about it. So, I am sorry.
